Seven hundred and 30 days…

2008 was the worst and best year of my life around march after just coming back from Toronto i find out I had a life threatening condition even though I was living a pretty normal life then having a transplant donated by my dad @philiplofthouse in November which has put me back to normal… Even though I must take tablets each day, but I will take tablets over a dialysis machine any day.

Well since my op and after my recovery period I have got back to myself and live having a normal life again. I promised myself I wouldn’t let the illness hold me back so I have since changed jobs, now working for a busy digital agency in Basingstoke, skated a marathon and raised over £2000 for south west kidney fund, also been able to visit my friend in Canada and travel around, defiantly couldn’t do that while on dialysis as we were constantly on the move covering over 4500km.

Few other things I have been up to include: paintballing, skimboarding, back to playing inline hockey, been swimming and able to take showers ( seems silly but couldn’t do that while on dialysis) drinking as much fluid as I want ( was restricted to 500mls before) and plenty of other stuff which you guys aren’t really interested in.

So tonight I’m out for a meal to celebrate with my family. Then off to a stag do in London on Saturday.

Keep healthy and take care of those kidneys, u really don’t want anything bad to happen to them, they control more then you think!
