It’s been a while since I last updated my transkid site, as it has helped alot of people I thought I should add a recent post. This has completely slipped my mine untill i started to redesign my blog.
Everything has pretty much been steady the last few months, had a biopsy to follow up my slight rejection and that was all fine, today i was taken off my cell cept tablets.
I have said goodbye to st helier hospital which has been great to me and im now going to Frimley park every 3 weeks to
Been busy lately with getting my life back so working and exercising and the odd night out. Everything is going well after the rejection been taken down on tablets so only 17 per day now which is fine, much rather take tablets then be on dialysis. I am hoping to pick up my final kidney armour next week then I will review each one and let you know so if you do want to play sport you can pick the right one for you.
Since finding out I had Kidney problems I have been on alot of tablets to control multiple things. Now I have had my transplant I’m on even more tablets which mainly include steroids to stop the rejection of the kidney. Lately a lot of people have been asking how many I am taking? what size are they? you get the idea. So I thought I would add a picture of what I am on per day.
21 is the amount of hours I have been in Hospital in the last 3 days. Monday I went for clinic and they wanted a biopsy as they could not work out why my creatinine had gone up by 20pts. So i went back to beacon ward and waited, 4 hours later I was told that they could not get me a bed that day so come back in the morning.

So it’s now christmas and six weeks since my transplant, everything seems to have sorted itself out, it must have been the drugs messing up my creatinine results.

Over the past 6 months I have been battling FSGS, its a condition where an antibody in your blood destroys your filters. When your kidneys dont work you face many problems. Your legs swell up becasue your kidneys dont get rid of the fluid so it just drains through your kidneys
So its 6 days since my transplant and today is my 1st full day at home. It all went pretty smoothly and my dad and I had no complications.
Im really happy its over but its just a waiting game now to see if FSGS comes back in the new kidney. Just got to cope with [...]
